The Peter Francisco Soil and Water Conservation District has two no-till drills available for rent to residents of Buckingham and Cumberland counties.

To schedule the drill for rental, contact the District's Equipment Manager at: 

     

Equipment Manager will coordinate drill delivery to and from site.

 

Rental Rates:

  • Less than 7 Acres - $150.00

  • 7.1-49.9 acres - $13.00/acre

  • 50-99.9 acres - $12.00/ acre

  • Out of District - $200.00

  • Clean Fee (if applicable) - $50

The Equipment Manager will have you sign a rental agreement upon delivery and pick-up

 

Taxes will be applied unless a tax exempt form is on file

Tax exempt participants:  It is your responsibility to file a Virginia tax exemption form ST-18 with the District.

 

Where do I go from here?

To reserve a drill, call the Equipment Manager at 434-838-0326 and provide:

  1. The dates you wish to use the drill

  2. The number of acres you will be planting

  3. The crop(s) you intend to plant

No‐Till Drill Checklist and Rules:

  1. No fertilizer may be put in any of the drill boxes, as this corrodes the metal

  2. No repairs to the drill are to be made without first calling the Equipment Manager

  3. While seeding, do not make sharp turns with the disk in the ground

  4. The drill is NOT to be used on new fields with excessive stumps and/or roots

  5. Any damage incurred due to improper use will be charged to the user

 

Please note that in the event of inclement weather or cancellations,

reservation of the drill will need to be rescheduled.

 

Payment can be made by cash or check (no credit cards).  

You will be invoiced and billed by the District.  

The Peter Francisco Soil and Water Conservation District assumes no liability for the failure or success of the crop as a result of the use of this seeder.
